The trans sex workers of Turkey take an enormous risk when they step out to find clients each night. But as one sex worker tells News Deeply, most lack any alternative.

Turkey’s transgender community is dealing with increasing threats of violence as the country moves in a more conservative direction. With 95% of transgender women in sex work, many are risking their lives on a nightly basis to earn enough money to survive. Last year, prominent LGBT activist Hande Kader was murdered. News Deeply spent an evening with Kader’s friend and fellow sex worker Cansel to find out the difficulties Turkey’s trans community faces in this film by Didem Tali.
